Continuing A Level Success Among Walsall Pupils

Pupils in Walsall have continued to improve overall performance in A levels this year.94 % have achieved two or more A levels, with most students achieving three passes. This result continues the improvement that has been seen at Walsall since 2001.

Walsall pupils have shown a particular rise in overall results, putting them in a stronger position from which to enter higher education.

We would like to advise pupils who have not yet confirmed their next steps for higher education to contact UCAS for further advice, and those that are considering alternative career options to speak to their Connexions advisors.

Tony Stainer, MD for Walsall Children’s Services Serco said,

“These results reflect both the efforts of students and the commitment of education professionals in Walsall who have worked together to develop robust strategies to improve students’ performance in sixth form.  Work on appropriate transition to A level study and close attention to supporting learners in relevant study skills is reflected in their attainment. Our congratulations to Walsall’s A level students and to all those who have contributed to their learning.”

Walsall Council leader Councillor Mike Bird said:

"Congratulations to all our students who have worked so hard to achieve these results andgood luck to them in the future as they embark on the next phase of their lives.".
