Detailed below are the standard specifications we now recommend as a minimum.

When comparing specifications, please use these as a guide. Suppliers often quote shorter warranty terms or do not include items such as Office – although these can be purchased separately, this will mean additional cost (and sometimes time).

At the current time, we do not recommend that schools use Microsoft Vista as there are still a number of compatibility issues with both administration and curriculum software. If using CSE or RM CC3, please see the notes below:

If you are using RM CC3:
If you are not purchasing through Walsall Children’s Services-recommended suppliers, you should ensure that the machine is tested with CC3 to ensure it will build correctly.

If you are using CSE:
If not purchasing through Walsall Children’s Services-recommended suppliers, you should ensure that you are supplied with DOS drivers for the network card.
